WHAT IS HOSPICE?
Hospice is a special type of supportive care focused on providing comfort – relieving physical, emotional, and spiritual suffering. The goal of hospice care is to enhance quality of life through a comprehensive set of services identified and coordinated by an interdisciplinary team. It involves a team-oriented approach to deliver expert medical care, pain management, and emotional and spiritual support tailored specifically to the patient’s needs. At Solaris, we focus on providing the best quality of life possible for the patient, allowing them to put life first and to celebrate every important moment with family and friends.

Hospice Eligibility
WHO PAYS FOR
HOSPICE CARE?
Most hospice patients are eligible for Medicare or Medicaid, which covers all aspects of hospice care and services. This includes Medicare Advantage Plans. There is no deductible for hospice services and it is very rare for a patient or family to have any out-of-pocket expenses.
Private or commercial insurance plans, such as the kind provided by an employer, offer a hospice benefit but the extent to which they cover hospice care and services may differ from Medicare as well as from one another. Solaris can help determine your coverage specifics.
Veterans have hospice coverage through Tricare, and private payment is also accepted, referred to as “self-pay.”
